The Fort Foote Baptist Church Deacons Ministry consists of men who are chosen by the members before being ordained by God to serve Him and His people in accordance with Acts 6:1-7. Deacons are primarily servant-leaders, with an emphasis on service.
Deacons
Deacons serve under the leadership and spiritual direction of the Pastor, in prayer, support, and fellowship. Deacons are charged with serving the three tables of the Lord—Table of the Poor (those in need); Table of the Pastor (freeing him to fully commit himself to studying God’s Word and praying); and the Table of the Lord (Holy Communion). Deacons are assigned a number of families to care for and assist in their spiritual development, growth and to meet other needs. The Deacons Ministry promotes peace, harmony and a spirit of cooperation and unity among the membership. Deacons also help Church members strive to meet The Great Commission (make disciples of all nations); to boldly minister the Gospel to believers and non-believers; to care for Church members and others in the community; and to be unwavering Christian role models.
“Those who do well as deacons will be rewarded with respect from others and will have increased confidence in their faith in Christ Jesus.” 1 Timothy 3:13 (KJV)
